Planning a Wedding Date?.....Consider March 2017 In Texas
March is the beginning of spring. Flowers are blooming, the weather is good, and yes -people are getting married! Here are some things to consider when scheduling a wedding date and what makes March a good month to choose.
Budget The most popular months to get married are June and September, which also makes them the most expensive months. According to Budget Weddings For Dummies "January, March, April, and November can be far less expensive months for marrying. Venue and vendor prices are likely to be significantly lower simply because the demand isn’t as great."
More To Choose From March is a great month to get married because your location options are more readily available compared to the busier months when, everyone is trying to book the same facility. When you don't have four other couples in line behind you, you can potentially negotiate a better price too.
Conflicting Events When picking a wedding date, you may need to be conscious of other events that could conflict with your special day. Scheduling during a time of large city events, class reunions, family anniversaries, state holidays, federal holidays and religious holidays can greatly reduce the number of attendees and possibly create extra expenses. These events can also determine if you have a morning, afternoon, or evening wedding.
Our own Leanna Murphy got married in April during Fiesta, and found that chair rentals had become scarce due to the many Fiesta parades. She almost didn't get chairs for her outdoor wedding!
If you live in San Antonio, you have to be mindful of scheduling a wedding during Fiesta, maybe a large convention and even a Spurs home game. These events can decrease your option of wedding locations, increase expenses, or even limit hotel availability for out of town guests. March is a good time for a wedding in San Antonio because the city has very little going on to encroach on your wedding day plans.
Flowers March is also a great month for finding a larger variety of seasonal flowers. This enables you to get the flowers you want without paying more or even worse, not getting the out-of-season flowers you want. Even though Leanna was married in April, her outdoor wedding had a wide range of flower options to choose from. Plus, there was a field of wild spring flowers surrounding her entire wedding ceremony. Those flowers were beautiful and free, and that is always a great price!
